Introduction

The Ferbraches of Guernsey go back into the mists of time in Guernsey, The family does not appear in Larousse Noms et Prenoms de France.

It is surmised that the name is derived from Fer - iron and Bras - arm, suggesting a man reknowned as a warrior in times of old.

There is an epic poem where the hero - Fierbrace - saves the Christian hosts from the Saracen invaders.
